Alamogordo, NM: it’s March already!

The campground was actually about 10 minutes outside of Alamogordo but the town had lots of options of things to do, useful shops and was not overwhelming.

The view from the camper certainly wasn't too bad!

We spent Monday afternoon in the library; Jake was especially thrilled that they had a large graphic novels section. After an hour, Nate began to get a bit antsy so we, along the girls, went to the playground, leaving Jake with a cell phone at the library. When we returned for him a couple of hours later, he was nonplussed that we’d returned so soon!

One evening, Dave went outside to photograph the sunset. He's becoming quite a whizz with the camera, playing with the settings and creating some amazing keepsakes.

On Friday, we spent the late afternoon at the Kids’ Kingdom play area: ‘the gem of Alamogordo’s parks’. It was an awesome playground: tunnels, towers, tires, swings, bridges, castles and a huge on-ground US map, which provided hours of ‘lava monster’ fun and evidently ‘Daddy: The Tickle Monster’ was out in force! I went shopping for groceries and birthday pressies, so it made for a very late dinner.

You sound as though you're having such a blast on this adventure! I've never been to New Mexico, but it may be on the list!
