St Pete's to Fort De Soto: Jan 3rd
This was our shortest transfer so far, and looking at the schedule, there certainly will not be another one like it: half an hour!
We had to kill some time in between as we needed to leave the KOA by 11am and couldn't check in at Fort De Soto until 1pm. It was such a lovely, easy day. We were, of course, all settled in at the campground in daylight, leaving day able to set up the satellite dishes, working his way between the palm trees.
This campground is beautiful and the sites are huge and private, each one is surrounded by palm trees and bushes. We are thankfully close to the toilet block: no sewer hook ups, so limited use of our bathroom allowed. The campground itself is located on a 'key' and there is a wonderful, wide and flat trail to the beach.
Late Sunday afternoon, I took a peaceful walk along the trail to the beach, it took a good 20 minutes but was perfect. I was able to watch the sun setting as I left the beach, think I need to find a few more times like those....
